RESUME

When asked to describe my dream job, like many people I leaned towards building my hobby into a financially rewarding and personally satisfying career. To start a career as a professional racecar driver at age 50, is somewhat unrealistic, regardless of my driving talent, but with my business career I have built up a considerable depth of management experiences, ranging from the simple work-load management of small teams of people, to the strategic and tactical planning rigors and extensive personnel management needed as the head of large scale, long term, complex projects that involve multiple stakeholders. I am PMP certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI).

So the realistic answer to the question, "what is my dream job", combines my passion for the world of motorsport with my extensive managerial experience: the manager of a professional race team, or a senior position in race track management.

My passion for the world of motorsport is not just an intangible that provides no meaningful value to organizations looking for a manager. The length of my involvement in motorsport has endowed me with intimate knowledge of many aspects of racing, and given me a wide range of current professional motorsport contacts, ranging from drivers to team owners, organizers to race track CEO's. I have a good working knowledge of, and contacts who are involved in, professional road racing, rallying, autocross, karting, drag racing, motorcycle racing, and motorsport schools, and I understand the needs and demands that these types of organizations have with sponsors, communities, and other stakeholders.

My managerial experience provides me with the tools to understand how to develop long-term strategic plans, and back up those plans with sound tactical decision making. I understand business finances and how advanced planning and tracking, and how vendor alliances can influence budgets, financial projections, and ultimately profit. My experience with dealing with a large staff, and understanding of how the diversity and cultural differences that exist in many large organizations can be leveraged to the advantage of an organization, are staples of my prior experiences. The core skill set of a Deloitte Consulting practitioner is the ability to learn, understand, then improve a diverse range of business processes - characteristics that I have succesfully demonstrated during my tenure with Deloitte Consulting.

Combine my passion and managerial experience, and a unique qualification emerges that favorably positions me to lead a racing focused organization into a bright future.

I encourage you to review all the components of my resume, and ask me for specific references that can confirm my experience and knowledge in any appropriate area. Please e-mail me for more details - serious inquiries only please.
